Editions
InteractV ships in three editions: Basic (free) and the two paid editions Gamer and Partner. The edition you get is decided by the archive you install: there is no license key, activation, or in-game toggle. Every archive is ready-to-run; nothing to configure to start playing.
Basic (free)
Available to everyone, from the download page:
- Autonomous gang scenes: rival gangs confront each other, meet and sell on the street.
- Player involvement in the gang encounters around you.
- Affiliation, recruiting, and simple orders for your crew.
- Behavior profiles and native GTA speech.
- The in-game settings menu, including the language switch (English/French).
The faction profiles under groups/ are supplied as editable files, so you can adjust each gang's look, equipment, vehicles, behavior and texts.
Gamer (paid)
For Patreon members at the Gamer tier. Everything from Basic, plus:
- World reactions: police, the army and air support respond to what happens around you.
- More situations: additional scenes and world events, many of them involving the player.
- Territory and conquest: gangs hold, defend and take city zones, and your faction can take part.
- Faction operations: your lieutenant keeps in touch by phone and text message, and your faction can send backup or strike a rival on your order.
- Fully editable data: every gameplay file (scenes, interactions, events, behaviors, groups…) is shipped as an editable file, so you can change or extend the mod without touching code.
A territorial economy also exists. It is still experimental and switched off by default.
Partner (paid)
For Patreon members at the Partner tier. Everything from Gamer, plus:
- The in-game authoring tools: the developer menu to inspect, edit and test content live, with the tools used to build and debug scenes.
- Alpha builds: the work in progress between two releases, before it is tested and released to everyone.
The Partner archive starts with the authoring tools disabled. Set DeveloperMode=true in config/interactv.ini to enable them; the Basic and Gamer builds cannot enable them with this setting.
Pick Partner if you author or extend InteractV content yourself, or want the next changes first; for playing, Gamer is the same gameplay without the authoring tools.
Which one do I have?
| Clue | Edition |
|---|---|
| The free download, from this site or a public mirror | Basic |
| The Gamer download, after connecting with Patreon | Gamer |
| The Partner download, after connecting with Patreon | Partner |
A Basic install keeps its gang scenes and player involvement; the world reactions, territory, faction operations and their related systems are absent or disabled. Gamer and Partner run the same gameplay; Partner adds the authoring tools, disabled until you enable them.
Getting the paid editions
Both paid editions are on the download page: connect with Patreon and the edition of your tier unlocks. Every published version stays downloadable there. They install exactly like Basic, with no key to paste anywhere.
If you were given a file and it does not unlock the paid features, you almost certainly have a Basic archive: the edition comes from the archive, not from a setting, so download the archive for your tier again.
